B. Brown. Program: Tom Shelton’s Wine Tasting and Tour After a pleasant fellowship gathering and excellent meal by Whitey’s Barbeque, farm owner Tom Shelton lead a group around the vineyards and to the wine production ‘barn’. He explained how little birds eat the grapes and how he likes big birds that eat the little birds better. In the past, he has even used chicken necks to attract the bigger birds. He has planted grapevines every year from 1999 to 2003 in order to pursue a commercial wine sale sustainable business. He plans to have direct sales to the public in his barn and show room in the very near future. Samples of the various types of wine were enjoyed by most in attendance and enjoyed by all. An excellent time was had by all as evinced by numerous expressions of wishes to do this again!
50:50: There was no 50:50 this week. Enjoy Rotary! |
