Meeting of June 19, 2008

Main Program: Wow! What a night with Elvis! Actually there were 3 Elvie!  Basket Bingo with Elvis III at the Salisbury Moose Lodge was a huge success and brought in lots of dollars for our community.  Hats off to all who participated but particularly to Matt Maciarello (aka Elvis I) who took innumerable scolding from the audience when he called out the wrong letters on specific games. (It’s OK Matt, it was all in fun and we know you were up late filling baskets the night before!). Our own past-presidents Allen Brown and Steve Cappelli took the challenge and suited up as Elvis II and III. A special thanks to Matt’s Dad who has been there for us for each of the last 3 Basket Bingos.  He coordinated and played the appropriate music for each of the basket themes.

There were a total of 20 bingo games and a unique basket for each winner (most of which were sponsored by our Rotarians- thank you!) and continual door prizes and raffles going on.

The food was either beef or pork barbeque sandwiches with chips, drinks and lots of desserts including 4 Smith Island cakes! Here again, there were lots of Rotarian volunteers to make that all happen as well.

The 50/50 amounted to a whopping $250.  Great job by all!
