She left for Salisbury, England on September 28th and will be back on October 18th. He reminded us to SELL! SELL! SELL! Raffle tickets must be sold by October 18th. Three weeks to go. Bob Brown is recuperating at home after gall bladder surgery Thanks to “sweet” Ginny Dulany for the fudge, the perfect complement to another great Jock McNair dinner! Tom Wieland reminded us of sponsorship opportunities for the Seagull Bike Ride Wear your badge next week or face a fine imposed by the Club. Paul Morris is the Sergeant-At-Arms and will collect the fine! New members whose badge is not yet here are excused from this requirement. Main Program: Gary Mackes introduced Bill Middleton, Chairman of the Board of Salisbury Horizons. Horizons is a program offered nationally at independent schools to assist economically disadvantaged children reach their full potential. Locally, the program includes 60 students from Wicomico public schools who meet at the Salisbury School on Saturdays during the school year and during the summer. The BOE provides breakfast, lunch and transportation, but the $1,400 per student cost is covered by private donations. Our Club contributed $500 last year. Bill introduced Harlan Eagle, Executive Director; Donelle Vanholten, Program Director; Pam Stallings and her daughter, Ariana; Tasha Davis and her daughter, Angel Stanley each of whom enthusiastically spoke for the program and the positive results on the students. Terry Greenwood and Allen Brown offered additional support. Donations for this 501(c)3 corporation are being sought.
